The first school sports event of the year is happening this Friday at Port Clements Community Field. Outdoor Soccer. Students will need to get their permission slips into the office or their teacher. We are working at organizing a food coordinator and we hope to have more lunch days in the very near future. We are working at organizing a food coordinator and we hope to have more lunch days in the very near future. On Friday afternoon, September 16, Tahayghen students and staff will be participating in the annual Terry Fox Run. We welcome parents and caregivers to attend and participate either as runners or as volunteers. The run will start at 2:00pm at the school and go towards the Delkatla Slough trail and then back to the school.

Yesterday afternoon, all school districts across British Columbia received a special update from the Ministry of Education indicating that BC would be following the lead of the Federal government and joining other provinces in observing the National Day of Mourning to commemorate the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. K-12 public schools and public post-secondary institutions, and most Crown corporations will be closed on Monday, Sept. 19th, 2022.

Welcome back to the 2022/2023 school year. We are very excited to welcome everyone to school on Tuesday, September 6.

Tuesday will be an early dismissal day. Students will be dismissed at 12:00pm and buses will depart Tahayghen at 12:10pm.

Wednesday September 7 will be the first full day of school for all students.

The bus stop schedule is on the School District 50 website at sd50.bc.ca/busing/ If you have any questions, please call Lao Peerless at 250-559-8471.

Please note that class configurations are set but that they may be adjusted over the course of the first week of school.

We will have a morning assembly on September 6 to welcome students to the school, introduce their teachers, and to orient them to their classrooms.

Please have a great long weekend and we will see you on Tuesday!
