Bus Incident January 16, 2019

A window was damaged on a school bus on January 15, 2019 at approximately 3:45 PM in the Miller Creek sub-division.  The reason for the break is currently being investigated, at this time we are able to confirm no firearms were involved, nor was anyone injured.  The bus driver was able to travel to all stops along its route and no bussing schedules have been impacted.

CASUAL BUS DRIVER

SALARY:                                   $25.31 per hour

 

The Bus Driver is responsible for the operation of school buses used to transport students within the district and maintains the safety and cleanliness of the school buses. This position works under the supervision of the Maintenance and Transportation Supervisor and will in the course of duties take direction from Principals and individual teachers.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 graduation
  • Valid BC Class 2 or Class 4 Unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Related experience
  • Ability to interact with students in an effective manner.
  • Ability to apply, and may involve a choice of, established methods and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Physical capability to perform the job duties
  • To maintain a neat and tidy personal appearance while performing job duties.
  • Trained in WCB Level I First Aid or better, or the willingness to obtain the same
  • Willingness to obtain various training as directed by the Maintenance & Transportation Supervisor.

Performing Arts start at 3:30pm in the Performing House.
Art work will be up for approximately two weeks in the foyer of the Haida Heritage Centre.

Urgent Notice

Due to the recent passing of Chinnie William Robin Brown, the Board of Education’s Regular Board meeting will be postponed to provide Trustees and staff the ability to attend the funeral being held on October 23rd.   The board meeting will be held on October 30, 2017 at Sk’aadgaa Naay Elementary beginning at 6:00 PM.  The board sends our deepest condolences to Trustee Brown and his family.
